Fall Break

For fall break this year we decided to go camping. Our kids LOVE camping. I really love to camp and Brandon and I have gone a lot since we have been married. It sure is a lot of work and kind of crazy at times. Like in the middle of the night with five kids in a tent and one being a 16 month old that is teething. Overall, it was so fun to be together. The weather was great. The canyon was beautiful yellow and orange with the fall leaves. The kids fished. The girls with their new Barbie fishing pole, which they were so excited about. We got in some target shooting, and lots of fun time around the fire.
One night as the kids had gone to bed, Brandon and I were out by the fire. We could hear something in the woods behind us, (which is always kind of freaky), so Brandon gets up and goes walking in with his flashlight. Isn't that something that you always think not to do when your watching a scary movie. Anyway, a huge heard of elk only 20 feet away were walking right past us up the hill. You could her their antlers hitting against the tree branches and hear them calling to each other. It was really awesome.
James was in heaven running around getting as dirty as he possibly could and playing outside the whole time.
We are excited to go again. There are a lot of great places that are close by, to try out in the future.
